Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) work to move clinical practice forward by leveraging technological advances, incorporating cutting-edge research, and building on evidence-based practice to create new models of care for improving the health of individuals, families, communities, and health care organizations. As clinical innovation and systems implementation experts, CNSs are well positioned to positively influence practice, education, and research.
Outcomes is the watchword for the 2012 conference. The conference will highlight novel approaches to CNS practice within the three spheres of influence: the client sphere (individual, family, community), the staff sphere (nurses, nursing practice), and organization/system sphere (see, Statement on Clinical Nurse Specialist Practice and Education, 2004).
