ACTION ALERT: All CNSs should respond to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Future Vision for CNSs.NACNS Responds to NCSBN Vision Paper On Fri. February 17, 2006 the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) circulated to APRN stakeholder organizations a draft APRN Vision Paper developed by NCSBN’s APRN Advisory Panel. This document makes explicit the position underlying NCSBN’s stated views on CNSs and the regulation of CNSs. NACNS finds unconscionable NCSBN's recommendation to exclude the CNS role from recognition as an advanced practice registered nurse and to furthermore not recognize the role title for CNSs who do not independently diagnose and treat disease.
